WINTER DISCOUNT

TGIF!!  Thanks Goodness It's Fall or Friday!! (whichever you prefer)  I know today marks the first day of Fall but as I was perusing through some of my go-to blogs for inspiration, I stumbled upon an entry where a fellow event designer & coordinator was offering a Winter Discount.  I think it's ingenious!!

Yes, it's true that we're blessed to live in Southern California where you can get married any time of the year but for those couples who are taking the leap of faith to get married during those colder, possibly rainier months I am offering a $300 WINTER DISCOUNT during the months of DECEMBER 2011 through MARCH 2012.

Message me for more information & spread the word to your newly engaged friends & family!! :)

Fall Into Love

Although the weather doesn't seem to show it, today marks the first day of my favorite season of the year...Autumn!!  It's a wonderful season to get married as leaves begin to change colors and there's a slight chill in the air.  Personally, I always wanted to get married during this beautiful time of year but due to our fanatic commitment to a little thing called Turkey Bowl (a tournament held every year during Thanksgiving where dozens of churches gather to play flag football), Husband and I didn't want to risk getting hurt before our big day!

Autumn may not be the most popular wedding season due to its association with non-traditional color palettes.  However, it's the perfect time to embrace these rich hues and jewel tones to accent your wedding during this season!

Deep colors like plum, cobalt blue, or emerald green are popular color choices for Fall.  Don't be afraid to add a punch of color!  Have a happy weekend!! :)

Allison & Tae - July 27, 2011

It's Friday!! I'll be leaving soon with Husband for our church's College Group Retreat! I'm leaving you with a wedding of the beautiful couple, Allison & Tae.  They both met and studied fashion at Otis, only to fall in love after years of friendship. Thanks to Studio Q Photography, they were able to capture this fun yet classy wedding!

Did I mention that Allison designed her own wedding dress along with her bridesmaid dresses??
Not only beautiful but oh so talented!!

The groom and groomsmen didn't look so shabby either~

How cute is the ring bearer??

This picture is hysterical!

Love these dahlias! It doesn't hurt that Allison's cousin & aunt are florists! They did a beautiful job~

Lovely vendors of the day~

Labor of Love

A lot of people ask me if it's difficult to sacrifice my weekends to plan and coordinate weddings for others.  Thankfully, I view it as an amazing honor to be a part of their special day so it truly is a labor of love for me!!  It also doesn't hurt having Husband as my assistant~  He understands how much I love what I do and is willing to go the distance to give up a part of his weekend with me!

I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing Labor Day weekend!  Mine was filled with two weddings that I'm smitten with and cannot wait for their pictures to be posted!!  Both weddings were filled with lots of DIY magic, including oversized paper flowers meets ribbon wall and a dessert bar backdrop that looks like it came out of an Anthropologie catalogue!

I also had the wonderful opportunity to work with some amazing photographers and videographer!!  Although I won't be able to reveal the awesome same day edit created by Peter of Studio 205 Films until later, I WILL post the engagement sessions of these two incredibly sweet couples I had the honor of working with!

The first engagement session was shot by Youkeun of Youkeun Oh Photography.  Fun Fact: I went to college with Youkeun!! It's great to see old friends in the wedding business! :)  Meet Maria & Ed.  I love the different backgrounds in the photos.  They look like they walked out of a J.Crew catalogue!!

This next engagement session was shot by the sweet wife & husband duo, Jamie & Chris of JAC Photography.  Fun Fact: JAC Photography has shot several different couples I've gone to high school with!  It's a small world, indeed~ Meet Judith & Aaron. They are good friends with Husband from Fuller Seminary where he spent his first year in seminary before transferring to Talbot. I love the vintage look of these photos!

More details of these two beautiful weddings to come later!

Celeste's 1st Birthday

What do you get when you have an adorable baby girl turning one, a creative Mom, and crafty Auntie??  A DIY birthday celebration filled with lots of goodies!

Inspired by an outfit piece with strawberries, Celeste's first birthday is filled with lots of DIY goodness including a fantastical ribbon wall with burlap & ruffled streamers, mason jars filled with fresh strawberries, and handmade party hats for the little ones!  These wonderful photos were taken by Jerome of Jerome Park Photography!

Party hat favors for the kids
Mason jar centerpieces filled with strawberries with gingham placemats~
Flower arrangements handmade by Celeste's Auntie!

I spy a ribbon wall!

(R) Doljabi - In the Korean tradition, one of the highlights of a dol is the doljabi,
where the child is placed in front of a variety of items
and it is believed that the item the child selects will foretell his/her future.

Loved all her outfit changes that fit right in with the strawberry theme!
Happy Friday!! Have a safe & cool Labor Day weekend~ Mine will be filled with two back-to-back weddings!! xoxo
