The Beast

Happy Wednesday!!

I know this blog is supposed to be dedicated to all things wedding, but as you can see from my last post, I couldn't help but bend the rules a bit.  I have some wonderfully talented friends that need to be recognized!  I hope to continue featuring my multi-talented friends, who range everywhere from sewers to fashion designers to photographers (you know who you are! ;)

In other news, today is a momentous occasion for me because I finally finished something that I would jokingly refer to as THE BEAST (I know it's a tad overdramatic) otherwise known as BTSA.  Some of you may know that Husband decided to propose to me a week before Part 1 was due last year and I was nothing short of stressed!  He said he wanted to throw me off his game and he sure did!!

If you're in the education field, you know you feel my pain!  To make a long story short, it's a two year process filled with case studies, projects, student work analysis, etc. that a teacher needs to compile and pass in order to be recognized as a fully credentialed educator.  After three years of teaching in the amazing school district I grew up in, I am officially finished!!  Praise God!  He's been so faithful in providing a job for me every year in the midst of budget cuts and I am SO, SO thankful to be finally finished!!  I couldn't have done it without the amazing love, support, and encouragement of Husband who has also just finished his third year in seminary (yay!!).

Now I can focus on other things like an upcoming photoshoot with an amazingly talented photog (more details to come!), a dear friend's baby #2 shower, and a wedding in July!  It's going to be the start of a busy but fun-filled summer!!

I will leave you with some pictures of some fantastical ribbon inspiration!  I've been obsessed with ribbon walls lately and it adds a whole new twist to DIY photobooths or a fun focal point behind a head table or dessert bar!

Egg to Eggi

Today's feature is dedicated to a dear friend of mine, Esther, who recently gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Noelle.  She is also the mastermind behind our school-inspired wedding invitation set.  I already know this little girl is going to be spoiled with lots of love and creativity from her crafty mom!

Inspired by her pregnancy to create eco-friendly baby items for her little one, she created the company Egg to Eggi (eggi means baby in Korean).  She handmakes everything from bibs to burp cloths and is also in the middle of creating a line for those stylish dads who don't want to caught with girly, baby things ;)

I don't know if it's the teacher in me but I am in love with these alphabet letters!  It would be a great addition to any nursery and doubles as a learning tool..because it's never too early to start teaching your newborn ;)
Esther's personal creation for Noelle's bird mobile.  Isn't she so talented??
How cute is this handmade rosette and leaf??
This tree stump is a jack of all trades - a pillow, couch cushion, or added decor to your baby's nursery.
Inspired by her video game-console loving husband, this Pacman bib works for boys or girls!
A great starter set for the new mom: bib, burp cloth, and diaper changing cones.

All you moms and dads out there, check out Esther's site on Etsy!

Noelle, we've been patiently awaiting your arrival.  You are welcomed with love!!  Can't wait to meet you~

Julia & Daniel - March 19, 2011

My first official feature is dedicated to Julia and Daniel.  They will forever hold a special place in my heart because they were the first couple to approach me about coordinating their wedding.  Going into event design and coordination was something I had been contemplating and praying about for a while so when they graciously asked me to be a part of their big day, I was beyond thrilled!!

This couple is truly one of a kind.  I first met Daniel at church and got to know each other more through our small group.  When he first started dating, many of us were so excited to meet Julia (and for good reason!).  Julia is beautiful inside and out and quite possibly one of the most sweetest girls I've ever met!  They are one of the most loving and considerate people I've ever encountered and their wedding day was a testimony of exactly that.

Nina of Love & Lemonade did an amazing job capturing their beautiful day!!

Love this shot of the bride!
I spy anemones!!

{jane}

It's been a long time coming, but I am starting my own company, Jane: An Event Design & Coordination Co.

Being a former bride myself, I discovered my love for all things wedding related while planning my own wedding last year.  With only 3 months to plan, many thought I would go into a frenzy but instead I found myself really enjoying the process.  Creating a theme and figuring out how to realize these details was my personal favorite.  However, it wasn't until several months after our wedding where I still found myself browsing through wedding blogs, photography blogs, craft blogs and all things in between, that I began contemplating immersing myself into the event design and coordination industry.

On that note, my company will specialize in weddings and birthdays, where I've already had the pleasure of working with a wonderful bride and groom a few months ago (more to come later!) with another one on the way, and hopefully more!  If you would like a complimentary in-person or phone consultation please contact me.  I would love to meet or chat with you!!

I will leave you with some of my personal favorites from my own wedding...

Our first look

Invitations for our school-inspired theme handmade by a very talented and dear friend of mine
(I'm a teacher and my husband is a seminary student)

Library photobooth and scrapbook station
Dessert bar..quite possibly my favorite thing from our wedding!

Anemones are one of my favorite flowers but they weren't in season so late in the summer so I decided to incorporate it through our wedding cake.

Instead of using table numbers, we used table letters to go with our school-inspired theme
(alphabet mugs from Anthropologie)

I can't decide if I loved my Korean traditional dress (hanbok) or the wedding dress more!!

The little ones from our bridal party..oh how they melt my heart!
